Reports To: Deli Manager

Job Summary:

As a Deli Employee at No Name Deli you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving a variety of deli products, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Your role is crucial in delivering a pleasant shopping experience to our customers by offering high-quality deli products and friendly, efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli needs.
  • Answer customer questions regarding products, prices, and preparation.
  • Provide recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Food Preparation:
  • Slice, package, and label deli meats, cheeses, and other products.
  • Prepare deli trays and specialty items as requested.
  • Ensure all food items are fresh and presented attractively.
• Sales and Inventory:
  • Monitor and replenish deli case displays, ensuring they are well-stocked and appealing.
  • Maintain accurate records of deli sales and inventory.
  • Assist with ordering and receiving deli products as needed.
• Sanitation and Safety:
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work cooperatively with other deli team members and store staff.
  • Communicate effectively with the Deli Manager regarding any issues or needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Previous experience in a deli, kitchen, or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of deli products and food preparation techniques is a plus.
• Skills:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
